General Event Information:
The Mercy Children’s Clinic Franklin Classic is one of the oldest and most popular races and community events in Middle Tennessee. Last year the event attracted more than 3000 participants and another 3-5,000 on-lookers. Even if you don't run or walk, come down to the square and take part in the celebration including FREE KidZone, live music, celebrity appearances and register to win a Brand New Honda Fit to be given away at the grand opening of new Mercy Children's Clinic location.
Proceeds from the Franklin Classic support Mercy Children's Clinic and is our largest fundraising effort. With an annual budget of nearly $2.5 million, 50% of which is raised through sponsors and donations, we’re hoping to raise $150,000 through this years event.
We are proud to offer certified 5K and 10K courses. ChampionChip Timing is provided by the Nashville Striders. The course maps are below.

Prior to race day:

Day of race:

There will be registration tables for each race.
Monday September 7 : 6:00am until Start of race
In order to time all runners accurately, race morning registration must be completed 15 minutes prior to each event to receive a ChampionChip. Those registering after this cut-off will not be included in the timed results or awards Awards presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age/gender division.
Entertainment:
FREE KIDZONE
Come out with the family and enjoy the free Kidzone. We'll have inflatables, an obstacle course, Sweet & Sassy will be doing updoes and face stamps for the girls, facepainting, lots of games, popcorn, snow cones and the always popular 'Touch a Truck' Firetruck. All Kidzone activities start at 8:00 AM in the square.
Live Music By Scat Springs
Nationally recognized, multi-talented singer songwriter and recording artist Scat Springs has been a sought after vocalist since arriving in Music City. Together with his band, he specializes in Motown, soul, R&B, and funk. He has recorded with well known artists, participated in national ad campaigns, performed for corporate sponsors and been involved in several feature film projects.
Online Pricing
Online race registration includes an additional fee of $2 to cover the cost of online processing. You may register by mail or in person to avoid this charge.
Register before September 5th to avoid the $5 late registration fee.
Important Reminders:
5K and 10k races are reserved for runners and joggers
Baby joggers are allowed on the 5K and 10K runs, but will start at the end to avoid congestion
Baby strollers are not allowed on the runs, but are definitely encouraged in the 4K Walk.
We are unable to allow pets on the running courses, but they are welcomed on the walk course as long as they are on a leash. (Please clean up after your pet.)
The event will occur rain or shine. This is a charitable event and no refunds will be given if the race is postponed, modified or cancelled due to sever weather conditions.
